Intuition is a very personal thing. It's not something anyone can teach you. You can be guided on how to unlock it though. The rest you must do for yourself. Intuition lives deep in the pit of your stomach, you do not think with it, rather instead you feel it as an almost physical sensation of knowing.
In the Tarot deck, the archetype of the High Priestess is sometimes seen as the gatekeeper to our inner senses and psychic knowledge. The short visualisation that follow is one I wrote to connect with her and get the intuitive juices flowing more freely.
You may wish to record yourself reading this or ask a friend to read it to you as go on this little journey.
Begin by finding somewhere comfortable to sit or lie down, whichever you prefer. Once you are comfortable, close your eyes and take slow, deep, even breaths. Quiet your mind and feel your body relax.
Picture yourself walking towards a door. What does it look like? is it heavy or light? Take note of how you feel and what you feel may be inside. Are you nervous? Excited? Open the door and step inside.
You are now in a beautiful garden. The sun is shining, the grass between the toes of your bare feet is lush and green, still damp from the morning dew. Look around you. What do you see , hear and smell?
As you take in your surroundings,you see a small gazebo at the far end of the garden. It looks a little like a temple from where you are standing. Walk towards it. What is it made of? How does it look at a closer view?
As you approach, you see a lady sitting on a bench in the middle of the gazebo. She is wearing a long blue dress and holds something in her hand that you cannot quite make out. Take in her appearance, what does she look like? Is she young or old?
Hanging behind her to keep the sun off of her as she contemplates, is a thin curtain with a slight shimmer to the fabric.
The lady sees you and smiles a cool smile, raising her hand to beckon you closer. She pats the seat of the bench, inviting you to join her.
You tentatively step forward and sit next to her.
She turns to face you and says something.. what is it?
After a few moments she stands and taking your hand leads you towards the curtain hanging behind the bench. She says she has something to show you if you are willing to trust her.
You nod that you are ready and step through the curtain together.
What do you see behind the curtain? Does the lady give you a message? or a gift? Ask her any questions you have for her and listen carefully to her answers.
When you are ready, thank her and step back through the curtain.
Make your way back out of the gazebo and through the garden in your own time. Go back through the door, and finally, slowly open your eyes.
